I've only worked two places with Emdat InScribe so far, and both times when I first started with each MTSO, I just copied a few (especially longer) reports and pasted them into Word to confirm that the line counts jibed. The Word Count (characters with spaces, divided by 65) and the InScribe log count have always virtually exactly corresponded for me. If anything, maybe a line or two to my benefit, actually.
If there's another way to check it, I don't know it.
