I think a general memo needs to be sent out to every doctor or provider in every hospital and clinic everywhere to NOT EAT while dictating. Ugh
It seems like in the old days the providers respected us as a colleague and a part of the team. They’d shut themselves away in a closed room and give us decent dictations. Now we’re just the “typist” and their legal documentation means so little to them that they rush through it while eating lunch and trying to have a conversation with a colleague at the same time. This is 90% of the providers across all the accounts I work on, at both my jobs. So gross and disrespectful.
