He said when he was in Walmart, they kept trying to get him to use the self-checkout. His comment to them was that he came in there to buy groceries, not get a part-time job. My SIL in TX says they are "experimenting" with getting rid of cashiers and making people scan things on their phones. These companies are hell-bent on putting people out of work. What about us old fogeys who refuse to use a so-called "smart phone" like me--- I guess we are out of luck. Family Dollar in my town has coupons that you can only get on a smart phone and they won't give me the discount when I tell them I don't have one.
