I had a Compaq and then a Gateway laptop years ago before I got this one and they didn't last long. The HP is great - it's the brand I'm going to stick with from now on. It's very durable (I've dropped it a million times) and I've never had any technical problems with it. They're also very reasonably priced - my little boy actually saved up his birthday and Christmas money and bought one for himself on sale at Walmart for about $240. Can't beat that!
