there are opportunities out there and it is up to the individual to make a change. No matter what your situation is, there is always room for change. This hanging onto being an MT is ridiculous. The job is dead, the pay is pathetic, the treatment is cruel to say the least, etc.
I did the same thing; I got out of MT and found an outside job. It was difficult at first, but now I go and enjoy it and it isn't transcription. I look for local MT jobs around town, but so far haven't found anything and I only want PT, so that is a deal breaker sometimes, but I am glad I walked away from it and the treatment.
I have never been so beaten down in my life as I was when I worked for M*Modal.
