Not blaming the victim. - MT

Just cause and effect, pure bad luck. We do teach people how to treat us. I have an example from today. I agreed to sign for a package for my neighbor who is on vacation. He said it would arrive by noon. So, here it is almost 6PM and I'm still waiting. Afraid to get busy with anything else for fear of not hearing the knock on the door. It's the 2nd time it has happened like this with this neighbor. I think maybe I've "taught" him to take advantage of me. Did I learn this while being an MT or is it a lifetime defect? I guess it's time to learn to set limits with people, not just employers/IC clients, but everyone.
