Sadly, any kid with a year of general office - experience should have little Posted: Aug 14th, 2017 - 4:29 pm In Reply to: best companies to work for - anon
trouble finding a job paying more than $14/hour. That's well short of $30K a year, and poverty wages -- regardless of what the federal government says.
That said, I work at Nuance, and skilled editors who are familiar with their assigned accounts and push for good line counts -- and have enough work, the big kicker! -- should be able to dependably exceed that. Not by all that much, of course, and that is far less than the advanced skills required to do this work should earn; but if time at the keyboard is committed to being as profitable as possible, and are willing to do SOME flex time, skilled editors should make $14/hour at Nuance.
Pay is laid out in a grid with 3 factors so that people can monitor their production and realize that if they just learn to produce, say, anywhere from 5-50 more LPH (as they figure them) they can bump up to the next pay category and raise their line rate.
