is there anything called - "refractoricy" or however it is spelt?

The patient remained critically ill, very unstable, requiring increased dose of Levophed up to 14 mcg, initiation on vasopressin, septic shock progressing to "refractricy". 

 

Is the dictator coining a new word?

would it be safe for me to change to "progressing to become refractory"?
