I am assuming you are creating your new expansions in the Fluency platform itself. Unfortunately Fluency doesn't work that way. In order to have a period at the end of the sentence, the keyword has to be entered that way. For example, if you enter tprr as your keyword for "the patient was sent to the recovery room" and use it as the end of your sentence by typing in tprr., it will not play out. You would have to enter the period when creating that expansion by entering it as tprr.; however, that expansion will always play out with a period at the end regardless of where it is in the sentence. When using an expansion at the end of a sentence in Fluency you have to hit the spacebar in order for it to play out, then backspace to type the period.
While the Shorthand program was created for Windows base programs, and you may be able to use some of it in Fluency (not sure), any new entrees will need to be entered using Fluency guidelines.
I know it's a pain, we have been complaining about that for years.
