That is what I wondered as far as the program you are typing/ editing in. ShortHand is enhanced by, or limited by, the program used. I use Word 2010 and so have access to all that. My experience with Word-based programs is that they are basically glorified e-mail.
Good luck. My suggestion is to leave the period out after E or leave the capital in for Coli if you will not get dinged by your QA.
BTW, absolutely everything I try, including your sample, capitalizes that C. So there is a solution, but it is complicated and I do not think can be done with using your Word-based program. But I will keep fiddling. Check back once in a while, or I will send you an e-mail if I come up with anything.
