Would you apply to companies that need short term help? - wondering

There are a number of companies that are looking for help short term. I am thinking it probably has to do with the Nuance mess. Would any of you apply? I am still out of work with no clear time frame of when I will be working again. I am an IC to boot. Thanks for any advice!
