The number of MTs that check on this site are in the minority. I worked for a woman who never heard of MTStars. There are so many new MTs who just want a job, desperate MTs who need a job and probably work for 2 or 3 companies, will work for that rate.
I applaud your efforts and hope you find a better paying job, but I doubt that you will find it as an MT and saying what you do to these places, they could care less. Where one falls off, there are ten behind them.
Again, do it or not, it's up to the individual.
