I've worked as an MA/scribe. Trust me, they will run you ragged for low pay. The doctors can be real jerks, too, when it comes to their records. And when something isn't exactly how they want, it's your fault. Not a fun job.
If you're going to spend money on an associates degree, you are much better of going for an RN or health information management. It will open many more doors. Plus, there is more than 1 MA certification body. One of them requires no education to sit for the exam. Just buy a test prep and start studying if you really want to MA in the future.
