I have been offered a part-time job as an IC typing college lectures. The man I am dealing with says I would be receiving videos and that it can be done by uploading the video to a site called Voicebase.com and then editing the transcript, which would cost 2 cents a minute, so that would have to be added onto my rate. I have only done medical transcription before at a cents per line rate, so I am unsure of what price to tell him for this. It seems as if a per-minute rate is best, but what is a good rate for single speaker audio? Is it really easier to do the voice recognition and then edit it or to just type it? I guess I will have to experiment with that. Anyway, any advice anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.
