I've been doing transcription for almost 20 years. I did coding before that but never certified. I started the Career Step coding program and just didn't have the mental wherewithal (or time) to finish it, but it was a good program, I think you'd be fully prepared to pass the certificatuon test, and one of the less expensive. Call them and see if your state has special pricing. Mine had an affiliate program through community college and total cost was around $600. I did my transcription training through CS years ago and was very impressed with their program.
