Most MT tests are "timed" to some extent, but generally if you know your stuff, you will have ample time to finish the testing process.
Also, keep in mind that even looking for a position outside of MT, if you are going for any kind of "clerical type position" those types of tests will definitely be timed with typing tests generally being 5 minutes to see how many WPM you can type with deductions for errors, as well as multiple choice and other questions which as a rule, need to be completed in about an hour.
