I don't do any form of MT anymore, but a few years ago, I was QA. I never minded when MTs asked me about specs, but spelling and terms? That is the MTs job. It is the job of the MT to get a good education in a school so they have the tools to understand medical terminology and know how to trouble-shoot spellings, definitions of words and things like that.
It looks like they have given you the option to send it to QA for review, so I would go that route f you're not able to figure it out on your own.
