very very well put - oldMT

This is so very true and to the point. I just totally retired at age 76 after 45 years of medical transcription. When I started we were "typists" and called that in job descriptions, then we were medical transcription, and it started to become a paramedical profession, then we were Medical Language Specialists, and then came ASR, and the big companies swallowing everybody with their only concern, the bottom line. Our pay plummeted and despite 45 years of education and experience, I was told I was once again "just a typist, making minor corrections to ASR." Fate was good to me to allow me a long career in this, but even better to me by allowing me to leave it when it is so degraded.
