It used to be that you might get a minuscule 0.025 per line for having one. Now you get nothing. AHDI has done nothing except watch our pay go down. There have been a FEW articles in publications, usually from a management perspective, that offer nothing to help our plight, except to keep working (for the low wages). And the money they charge! They want $50.00 to re-up your certification this year. Last year it was less. The year before that, it was less. $50.00 is a lot of money to someone who gets not very much more than minimum wage for their work. And then they want huge bucks for each of those tests -- $400 or $500. We, for the most part, DO NOT have that kind of money. Not any more. Why you need to be certified for a minimum-wage job is beyond me, anyhow. They refuse to pay anything more for it. And then we have two large MTSO's who have sucked up much of the competition and now have the ability to set our wages, which they have done to an intolerably low level. So quit being such a goody-goody. We have some real issues, and that's what this board is for!
