It is the casual disrespect for those who are having difficulty with these changes and suggesting that they should just quit. Quitting is not an option for a lot of people, particularly those that might be older---and those are frequently the ones having difficulty with the adjustment.

AND, you are part of the problem. Willing to accept the peanuts and rubbing others' faces in it. If people had ever held the line with accepting this crap, perhaps we would not be in this position.
So there is the reason for your dislikes.
I am so sick of the "haters gonna hate" mentality. That really is just an excuse for not being thoughtful enough to see how your actions affect others.
