You don't work as a registrar until you are certified. But there are entry level support positions available in registries, which is what I do. My classes were all on line and yes they fit my schedule (but that would depend on what school you went to). I'm not sure what you mean by "these positions seem to be a little scarce." I had no trouble finding a job so I can't comment on that. You should start on the NCRA website and go from there, truthfully. Good luck to you!
