the heck must the shifts be claimed from swap board. First, they wait until either mid morning or late night to request this. By then, you've either planned your day out or ready for bed and OT not in the picture. Then, requiring to use swap board, if you happen to be in between the hour, you have to wait until the next hour to claim a shift. Who the heck wants to go through all that for a few extra lines. I can't believe they don't realize that themselves. If they need and are offering OT, they would do better to not place such a restriction or hassle on it to do it. Maybe they should do away with OT and instead require the HDSM to roll up his/her sleeves and get in there and get bang for their buck on their salaried positions.
