I use a wireless keyboard and mouse which have a receiver that plugs into the USB port on my laptop. Laptop on top of desk and keyboard and mouse on the keyboard tray. Works great for me. At one time I even had a bigger monitor hooked up to my laptop. I had the keyboard still on the top of my desk with the bigger monitor behind my laptop with it closed. Was a great setup.. until the bigger monitor died :( Haven't been able to afford a replacement yet. But my laptop has a 17 inch screen so it's not bad :)
