pay a slightly higher line rate with the CMT (or whatever they call it now?). Also, all in-house (hospital) MT jobs don't require a CMT. Where I was in-house for 9 years, it was preferred but not required. In fact, none of us had the CMT. Maybe the OP needs the CMT to move up the ladder at her job, who knows?
