If you are secure in your other job, I would just drop the dead weight of Nuance and move on with my life. There are so many other things I would rather devote time and energy to that I would hand in my resignation right away.
Now, if you were waiting to make sure that the new job was a good fit, that might be different but since you are not getting any work at Nuance anyway, it is not a viable back-up. You can give a 2-week notice so that you are eligible to be re-hired and just move on.
