But I believe that income tax only starts being withheld after you have made a certain amount. If this is a recurring problem, I would have an additional amount withheld.
In my situation, using the federal deductions led to there being too little withheld on my state taxes so I automatically have $10 extra withheld every paycheck. It is easier for me to get this back in a refund than it is to be surprised with a tax bill.
