Anyone ever take off anyway after having PTO denied? - Wondering

Two months notice and PTO denied.  I am going to have to write HDSM and TSA and say I am sorry, taking off anyway.  Not asking permission, but stating I simply cannot work those days, so do not count on it.  What do you think will happen?
