The "doubling" count of transcribed lines has nothing to do with paying for them (still paid per number of transcribed lines)...you double that number and add to the speech lines to calculate the total number of lines.
So 5000 typed lines plus 16,000 speech lines, gives you 26,000 lines, but you are still only paid for 5000 typed and 16,000 speech, which is as it always was.
(You can also do reverse and half the typed lines and add to speech to match up to total typed lines...so 5000 plus 8000 is 13,000, which is required for typed #.) So calculation not the same as the pay scale (which is still the same right now) ;) At least that is how my supervisor explained it way at the beginning of the increase to 26K required for FT.
