Downloading software can come with all kinds of malware embedded, even from a reputable site. "Free" ends up being not so free after all. I tried getting something free from CNET and ended up with all kinds of malware attached to it that I still can't get rid of. Still, I'm really surprised that Word is not on there since it's really an industry standard these days. Good luck!
