I would take a steady job outside of my home in a heartbeat over the ups and downs of transcription. It used to be you had somewhat of a regular job, with regular hours and work you could count on, but no more. It is up and down at best and some of these companies dock your pay for mistakes, that are questionable many times or ridiculous, nitpicking ones; not even a medical word or pertaining to patient care at all. Doctors screw up on dictation all the time, but we put in a comma out of place and it costs us. Just sayin! It ain't that great and the MTSOs are horrible.
