Hi Lisa, the company that had SC for Windows is indeed out of business. I recently got a computer with Windows 8.1 on it (which subsequently took a dump, so had to be returned). I ended up getting a computer with Windows 7 on it and this is what I did. I downloaded the program onto my new computer from their website. I then went to my C drive in my old ancient computer and copied over every shortcut file that I had to a flash drive and created and copied those files over to the new computer. On the new computer, when I now open SC, I have to "load" a particular file, but it still works fine. Hope this helps and it will save you the cost of getting something else. Again, I never tried to install this on a Windows 8 machine, but it may end up working the same way.
