urine analysis versus urinalysis--is there any difference? - starstruck

Posted: Dec 30, 2009

I think this doctor might be saying "urine analysis" as there seems to be a slight pause between the two words.  I've always gone with "urinalysis," so I'm wondering if there is any significant difference between the two terms.  Anybody know?

It is urinalysis, not the other urine analysis - Answers

Will there ever come a day when I will know all this stuff???? Thanks for clearing that one up.

But I know I'll be back at the word board sooner than later, so don't go anywhere....

Urine analysis - Euro sepsis

I have a lot of older docs that still say "urine analysis." They mean the same thing but it's one of those terms that is fading away.
same here, Euro - and I always change it to urinalysis

Some do say "urine analysis" but this is not considered correct by anyone I've ever worked for. They also say, "The patient was seen by myself" instead of "by me", which is not correct unless they mean that there was no nurse or other chaperone. Another favorite is "I" as the object of a preposition, as in, "The patient was seen by Dr. Jones and I." The degree is in medicine, not English, even if they forget it sometimes.

urine analysis - none

medically correct urinalysis regardless of what is dictated

I am so used to working from home and really enjoy it.  When starting out, is a national, working from home, the best place to gain experience?  I figure they would be more likely to hire "newbies"?  If so, ...
