gapposes of Achilles tendon - Anake Lolo

"The right heel has definite gapposes (doc's spelling) at the musculotendinous junction of the Achilles tendon." I assume he's meaning there's a gap there, but is there such a word? More likely spelling would be gaposis, but even that...

any other info on the patient? - sm

Not an op report. Just an initial visit to orthopedist. Diagnosis is rupture of the Achilles tendon, for which surgery is going to be performed. It's not the first time this doc has come up with a doozy of a word. English is his second language, and he's a bit sensitive about being corrected, so I want to cover all my bases before flagging this.

well he spelled it - just spell it like he spelled it

Well, get this, folks. Gaposis is a facetious term for the revealing gap that forms between snaps/buttons on clothing that is a bit too tight. I contacted his office and was told to just use "gap." But, hey, it was good for a chuckle.
