Precontrast vs Pre contrast - Flyer

I've always wondered (and can never find the correct answer) what do you all use in these cases - precontrast/pre contrast, postcontrast/post contrast, well maintained, etc. I've been told both ways by fellow MT's and would like your input. I think everyone does it differently. ??

Put them together somehow. Pre is a prefix. Post is a word. Post means after and is a full word, so post contrast is fine. Pre indeed means before, but it is not a full word, and therefore needs to be combined.

Patient was well maintained on the diet. A well-maintained diet has helped the patient.

Post is a prefix meaning after. Post is only a full word when it means pole, stake, etc. It's true that docs use "post" in a jargon sense to mean after (and when they do, that's fine), but the word "post" does not mean after.

I made a mistake--you are correct. I would therefore hyphenate or combine.

Hello! :) I'm working on a radiology report, and the sentence in question is this: "TECHNICAL FACTORS: Sagittal T1, axial FLAIR, PD and T2, as well as (brief) contrast T1." My question is the word in parentheses. The Dr. barely enunciates the word in question. The best I can make out sounds like either "free" or "brief." I have an Op note (for patient with thoracic aneurysm) in which half-strength Fizzy-paque or Vizzy-paque contrast is used to decrease the contrast load for patient. Any ideas on the contrast name? Thanks! ...
