Patient with sarcoidosis. He is on Medrol (s/l he is dictating 16 and 4 mg every other day.) SM - no name

Could this be correct 16 and 4 mg.. or do you think he might have just started saying 16 and corrected himself and said 4 mg???

Medrol only comes in 2 mg, 4 mg, 8 mg, 16 mg or 32 mg. So she could not have heard 64.

Medrol is a brand name for Methylprednisolone. This is an Anti-flammatory medication usually taken in the morning. It does indeed come in 16 mg and 4 mg but both 16 and 4 mg does not contain Erythrosine Sodium as one of the active ingredients. Unlike the other 2, 8, and 32 mg.
I would flag it as a question to my supervisor or the physician. You should always make sure that the medication and the dose is absolutely correct.

Erythrosine sodium is not an active ingredient. Rather, it is an inactive ingredient used as coloring.

I very seldom vent or complain, but it has just got to me today. This surgeon does such good dictation, EXCEPT when he yawns and continues to dictate. He does this all the time...turns a 1.5-2 min dictation into a 15 minute dictation. I fast forward through it, but I still have to "listen" to the whole file before I can turn in the dictation.
