Ferret the tissue? - NaomiMcD

Good morning, is anyone else awake? I have a doctor talking about secondary wound closure over a tibia and osteomyelitis. He says: We may try and ferret the tissue, possibly even include the relaxing incision. Help me please and thank you.

I don't know if ferret the tissue is correct, but it just doesn't sound right to me. What do I know. BTW, my schooling was for Medical Billing & Coding which I thought I would be able to do from home. I like transcription much better and now voice recog is taking my place!
