[ In Reply To ..]
Does not sound right to me. I have never heard of LBN - do you hear anything like MAC (monitored anesthesia care) in there?
EBL - Carnac
[ In Reply To ..]
Do you think he might be saying EBL for estimated blood loss, which is a separate line in itself?

lbn = subclavian (no further message) - SallySue

Not sure of that; it's a lot of line to use for a D&C - n/m

Not sure what you mean...the fluids were given via lbn line - patient probably had
[ In Reply To ..]
a subclavian line....what do you mean?
Subclavian lines are pretty extreme - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
For a simple outpatient procedure like a D&C, it would be unusual for them to put in a line whose insertion carries more risk than the surgical procedure they're having.

I've been doing this almost 30 years with a heavy emphasis on OPs since the git-go, and I can say I have never had a report where they placed a subclavian for an outpatient procedure. I'm the poster above who has her money on it being urine output if it's an ESL dictator.
It was already established he was saying arterial - and there is no
[ In Reply To ..]
further information telling us whether the patient had issues warranting a subclavian line - pre-existing to the procedure or not....if it is an arterial line and it sounds like lbn arterial line, you are saying that it cannot be subclavian?

Arterial line was never established - s/m
[ In Reply To ..]
That was just one of the many guesses that were made to us. And with the little info provided, all anybody can venture forth is a guess.
Read tissue help - please help - from the original poster - it says lbn arterial line
[ In Reply To ..]
so....my guess is subclavian arterial line. If you have a better one, good for you.
Much like elbows - everybody has one
[ In Reply To ..]
I suspect the dictator may have just been saying 'line' as in start in a new line. The OP was overly sure about whether it was arterial line, as evidenced in the original post, and in the post after that she didn't sound too convinced about it being an arterial line, either.

Unfortunately, since places don't seem to be too keen on returning the things we want to get back for feedback, we may never know, but I still maintain that a subclavian would be overkill for a D&C.
Too bad we don't know whether she already had it - or not
[ In Reply To ..]
and all we have to go on is the original poster's sounds like.
everybody has one elbow? - :)
[ In Reply To ..]
Sorry, couldn't resist. :P

[ In Reply To ..]
Could it be "a scant amount" or just "scant amount" of tissue?
