Coronary angiogram s/l Vizitek 25 mL was used, see message - Elderberry

Posted: Jan 29, 2010

I thought maybe Vasotec, but 25 mL!  I've googled and looked in the drug book and can't confirm that amount.  Maybe someone out there has expertise in cardiology.  Could this be a similar-sounding contrast medium, or maybe doc just misspoke.

Purpose
CT (computed tomography) angiography (CTA) is an examination similar to a CAT scan that uses x-rays and a contrast medium (also called dye) to visualize blood flow in arteries and veins throughout the body VISIPAQUEâ„¢ will be given through a vein in the arm before having the CTA scan of the heart arteries. The pictures it produces of the heart and its blood vessels will be reviewed and compared to those obtained during the catheter-based coronary angiography to see if the CTA shows the same blockages.

I'm just wondering when was the last time any of us took a moment and researched outside of this forum to get a better idea of what is happening with the MT industry?  Someone had asked last week for a listing of the largest? Did anyone else get the message from Massanotti?  What do you think?  Also, I went to medquist.com and was struck by the fact that they are marketing front-end dictation systems with SpeechQ, thereby eliminating transcriptionists altogether!  I am not surprised, any way to get us out of the picture will make them more money.  It just seems odd that they would tell us on one hand that they value us and then on the other try to get rid of us altogether.... ...
