KK, consider myself an competent user of Excel but have come upon a bit of a snafu with the calculation of time on my worksheet.
I worked (total hrs for the day) 8.01, 7.51, 8.03, 8.00, 7.58 for a total of 39.53 hours.
the standard formula, =sum(...), on my wksh adds it up to 39.13. What would the formula be to come up with the 39.53 hours? The formula in my head is multiple nested functions...there just has to be a simpler way.
In my head, I'm adding up the mins/60 then adding to the actual total of hours and it is coming out okay.....my head hurts. hours: 8+7+8+8+7=38
mins: .01+.51+.03+.00+.58=113/60=1.53
hours 38
mins 1.53
= 39.53 it just looks so easy.....WHY CAN'T I MAKE WORK!!!!!
Is it just something as simple as a formula function for time calc that I am missing? YES, YES I know I can continue to do it in my head....but DANG IT!!!! it just bugs me that I can't make it work in Excel! I've been doing it the long way for 4 years but really want to make it work with a formula.
