MT Test site compatibility - Veteran MT
Posted: Jul 07, 2013
I was wondering if anyone who has Windows 7 and IE 9 has been successful using the MT Test site. I recently applied for a position and was directed to the MT Test site. When I signed on, I received an error message that the test site was not compatible with IE 9 and it is not possible to roll back to IE 8. I was directed to install Firefox of Google Chrome, neither of which I particularly want, and Apple Quick Time player, which I do not think will permit me to use a foot pedal. Does anyone know a work around?I know there have been discussions about test grading on MT Test and it just seems to me that they need to work on their compatibility issues. Windows XP will soon be history and most people are going to need to get either Windows 7 or Windows 8, which only support the newer browsers. I would appreciate any experience that people would be willing to share, thank you.

I have Windows 7 and use IE8. Uninstall IE 9 and if it asks you to roll back to a previous version, roll it back to IE 8. I have had no problems with Windows 7 and IE 8 and I also do not do automatic updates. When it tells me an update is available, I check to see which update it is and then download it.

What I ended up doing was using the function keys on my keyboard to control the player instead of my foot pedal, that works okay. Thanks for your help.

You can try the compatibility view. I used this as I have IE 10. It looks like a broken page up top in the address bar. This should work. Good luck.

Keyboard Compatibility Question Sep 08, 2013Does anyone here have a Perixx Periboard ergo keyboard?
I'm thinking about ordering one but need to make sure it's compatible with Windows 7. I had an older Microsoft Natural ergo that, even with the USB adaptor, isn't compatible with Windows 7. I won't even start on my rant about how Windows could make their own system incompatible with one of their own keyboards. Yikes.
Anyway, haven't had good look with the newer Microsoft Natural Ergos (sti ...
