a way to put my Bayscribe expander onto a different computer - clueless mt

Anyone out there in MT land know of a way to put my Bayscribe expander onto a different computer. I thought it was supposed to just automatically download or something if you were switching computers but mine does not. I tried upgrading the tools and that did not help and neither did taking the tools off and putting them back on. Any ideas? I have a bad feeling I can't do it at all and I sure do not want to put all of my expanded terms in all over again. TIA.

"Why does the User Backup Assistant keep popping up each time I log in and bring up a typing form? Can I make it not pop up?

This is to remind you to back up your user files (word expander definitions and spelling words you have added). The Transcription Productivity Tools automatically backs up a computer-specific snapshot of your files each time you log in. It does not automatically back up a user-specific snapshot of your files automatically, this is left for you to do. If you rarely if ever switch between computers, you can simply disable this "auto-popup" behavior by checking the checkbox at the lower left of this dialog. Alt-U will still bring this up at any time you are in a typing form even if this box is checked.

However, if you frequently move between computers and want your settings to follow you around, before you log off get in the habit of backing up your user-specific files. Just press Alt-U and click the Backup User Files To Server button. Click Yes to back up your files. Now, when you move to another computer you should log into BayScribe as normal, go to a typing form and either wait for the User Backup Assistant to automatically popup (if enabled to do so) or press Alt-U and follow the Recommended action presented by the dialog. Typically it will tell you to "Restore User Files on the Server to this Computer".

I tried to do that. I went to a different computer and upgraded the "tools" thinking that I would automatically get my usual expander but it is completely blank. Nice try, though. I always update my user files so I don't know what the problem is.

Does anyone know if there is an expansion program that is compatible with Bayscribe? I was going to sign up for the free trial with IntelliType but the rep said it's compatible with only Word programs and I don't believe Bayscribe is word-based (if it is, please feel free to correct me on that!). I downloaded the trial version of Instant Text and used the Importer to import my Bayscribe expander entries through Text File. Either this was the wrong format to use or I did something else wrong because the entries are not expanding. I was able to get the abbvs.glo file to show up in the glossary entries. Whenever I type a word and hit the space bar, it either does not expand and when it does, it puts an extra letter in front of the expanded word, such as: bl = bbilateral cons = cconsultation It is also slower to expand and looks like it is deleting a letter quickly after I hit the spacebar before expanding.
