Former Instant Text users -- - Desperate Missing IT

I now work where outside expanders are not an option and I'm beginning to think I can't even type without my Instant Text.

Anybody else out there been through this and is there any hope at the end of the tunnel? I'm just finding it almost impossible to adapt, not to mention remember the shortcuts on a regular expander (AutoCorrect) - ugh!

I haven't had to give up IT, but I did once learn to type using a Dvorak keyboard layout instead of QWERTY. It was horrible for about a month. I literally cried because for a period of time I could not type well in either layout. Finally, I got good at Dvorak. Then I decided to go back to QWERTY because the Dvorak did not give me as much extra speed as I had hoped, and I got tired of not being able to type on computers at the library, etc. It was pretty bad going back to QWERTY, too. I imagine giving up IT would be something like that, but I share my story to give you hope that your brain will eventually get there.

I definitely appreciate the encouragement.

Several years ago I considered a Dvorak, but the thought of that big a change was overwhelming.

Same thing with this position I have now. The first time I was to interview, I declined mostly because I had another option and just couldn't see typing without IT. Now, I'm still doubting if I made the right choice this time around!

I can say that without a shadow of a doubt I miss seeing my 6 to 7 lines of choices for expansions more than anything!!!!!!!!!!!

I am looking for Instant Text users who may be able to get me headed in the right direction in regards to compilations. I have been using Instant Text for quite a while now, only adding things on the fly, or using the enrich feature. I do not understand the compilation feature it seems. Hi all, I am wondering if I can have Instant Text on 2 computers. I have added a part-time job, but I have to have IE8 or higher to be compatible, and my current job is only compatible with IE6. So, I am working on 2 computers. I have Instant Text on the computer with IE6 and would like to have it on my computer with IE8. I am lost without it. Anyone have any good websites for Instant text tutorial or questions? I did read through productivity talk and did find what I needed. I have not used this software in years. I use autotext, but I would like to use the line counting software that comes wtih IT. I am trying to figure out a short cut to copying text, right clicking on IT , clipboard statistics, and logging each note. Any thoughts on how to do this with keystrokes and NOT the mouse? Just wondered about what you all think is the best expander to use with VR. I used to use Shorthand up to a couple of years ago and now work with Instant Text. It seems to me that Shorthand is very very popular with the VR crowd. Does anyone use Instant Text successfully with VR? The version of IT I have (V Pro) does not have the recording functions and the ability to use shortcuts (like Alt+ and Control+) like Shorthand does. I am trying to use Instant Text with Emdat. I know it is supposed to work, but for some reason it isn't. The shortcuts don't expand, the "period" key doesn't work. The spacebar only makes a space if I hit it twice. Has this happened to anyone else. Any ideas? ...

Does anyone use Instant Text with Probity's Integra platform? I just downloaded IT and am having a lot of difficulty using it. First, I had to set it to be on the right side of the screen because otherwise the time marker disappeared. Not a big deal though. I just signed up for the 30-day free trial of Instant Text. This is what I have found: * IT is faster than Shorthand. * IT has some good features that SH lacks. However, IT also has some annoying limiitations -- just like SH does -- as far as what you can name entries. For example, when naming an entry you can only use letters, numbers, _ and - .
