Instant Text good for Webmedx/Enterprise? - Enough

For any WMXers, past or present, I need a word expander. ShortHand is simply not working out for me, have to back up way too much to correct unexpanded abbrevs. I currently have a frustration headache and have had enough of this. Customer Support will not help me, and none of the suggestions found on this forum or the WMX ShortHand forum helped (thank you for trying to help, though). Is Instant Text a good program to use for new Enterprise, i.e. does it expand like it supposed to at least the majority of the time? TIA.

After getting a new computer, my SH continually froze/would not expand, or expanded improperly. I tried every recommendation given by SH, I asked the mail group, and I asked the trainers, and nothing helped. I switched over to IT, and now that I am up to speed on it I couldn't be happier! It works wonderfully, and there is an e-mail group also for IT users. It did take me a little while to get up to speed, it has SO much potential, I have scratched the surface only. I try to learn/add one new feature a week (for instance, this week I learned you can make entries with a pause, for when you have maybe several sentences that are always the same, with variables in the middle.) Last week I added entries that will open up different programs (BOS, my dictionary, drug book, etc.). There is also great support on line if you need help. It is a bit pricey initially, but I am totally sold.

I was hoping someone would have good things to say about IT. I believe they have a trial period, so I will give it a try. And thanks for telling me about the IT e-mail group. Had not heard--or forgot--about that.

You are very welcome! There is a 1 month free trial. I recommend downloading their manual and reading or scanning through the 1st 2 chapters at least. My SH file transferred easily following their directions. What you may want to do to begin with under options is to choose "classic options" for expansion markers which will work just like SH. This will get you up and running fast, but to take full advantage you should consider using their suggestions, in which you expand using the semicolon or [ or ] for words. You will understand once you download it and look at the manual. You can also ask questions through the IT group at Webmedx, ask the trainers to connect you, and the on line help is excellent as well, they respond fast and are very knowledgeable. All of my expansions work quickly without any of the problems I was having with SH.

I am trying to open Enterprise this morning and the screen is small - only takes up about half of my monitor - anybody have this problem before and how to solve it? I rebooted and that didn't help. Everything in Enterprise is very tiny - all other software/Google, etc. opens normally, so it is just the Enterprise platform that is acting funny. I tried all the ways of making it "full screen" and nothing works.....probably going to have to call tech support..... ...

Anyone have any good websites for Instant text tutorial or questions? I did read through productivity talk and did find what I needed. I have not used this software in years. I use autotext, but I would like to use the line counting software that comes wtih IT. I am trying to figure out a short cut to copying text, right clicking on IT , clipboard statistics, and logging each note. Any thoughts on how to do this with keystrokes and NOT the mouse? Just wondered about what you all think is the best expander to use with VR. I used to use Shorthand up to a couple of years ago and now work with Instant Text. It seems to me that Shorthand is very very popular with the VR crowd. Does anyone use Instant Text successfully with VR? The version of IT I have (V Pro) does not have the recording functions and the ability to use shortcuts (like Alt+ and Control+) like Shorthand does. I am looking for Instant Text users who may be able to get me headed in the right direction in regards to compilations. I have been using Instant Text for quite a while now, only adding things on the fly, or using the enrich feature. I do not understand the compilation feature it seems. Does anyone use Instant Text with Probity's Integra platform? I just downloaded IT and am having a lot of difficulty using it. First, I had to set it to be on the right side of the screen because otherwise the time marker disappeared. Not a big deal though. I just signed up for the 30-day free trial of Instant Text. This is what I have found: * IT is faster than Shorthand. * IT has some good features that SH lacks. However, IT also has some annoying limiitations -- just like SH does -- as far as what you can name entries. For example, when naming an entry you can only use letters, numbers, _ and - .
