So they audit "1 to 2 percent" of our lines... - That is NOT enough

Posted: Feb 03, 2015

to get an accurate measurement of any one MT's work!!!  This is true whether the MT ends up with 98% (failing and getting 8 cents or less per line) or 100% (getting top line rate.

If you produce 10,000 lines per PP, that's only 100 to 200 lines out of ALL 10,000 lines!!!

And WORST OF ALL, having a range of lines they audit (1 to 2%) gives them the leeway to manipulate things even more.  For example, if they do 1% of your lines and your score is 100% at that point, you can bet your bottom dollar they will audit more in hopes of getting your score down.  No skin off their butts if they do more and you still are at 100%, chances are good you WON'T be, and they would have had to pay you more anyway.....

BUT...if after that 1% you are under 99%, you know they most likely will not audit anymore.

For this to be fair (but that is really not their goal so who am I kidding)...but they would need to audit MUCH more of your work, at least HALF, to get a somewhat decent assessment.  The way it is now, it's just like flipping a coin to see what your pay will be....same MT, same skills, different pay every week?    Oh, but another catch, that is a 3-headed coin, with 2 heads in their favor.   CANNOT WIN HERE!!

You're preaching to the choir - sm

If you want to make any kind of difference, contact your TSM, COM, and keep going from there.

That's not how audits work. - Sean

I don't think 1% to 2% is a rule they have to follow, only what is feasible. Which is what auditing is, anyway--an efficient way to ensure that standards are being met. If you are almost always on your game and only make the occasional mistake (which we ALL do), the odds of selecting the report it occurs in goes way down.

UNLESS of course, IMO, they either keep going until they find enough errors, OR, they state errors that were already corrected!! I have seen in reports changes I made return back to what they were after I edited down so far into the report. And yes, we can request reversals all we want, it still comes down to their word against ours, them having the last say of course, and how can we prove what only they can see? It stinks IMO.

Sean, what you say would be true IF - the audits really were

audits and reversals - Harry

Be very proactive about your reversals. I had one that said I left off 3 copies, but when I mentioned to my leader, she checked and somehow they can tell what changes were made. She said it was there that I had included the 3 carbons. What happened to them in QC is anybody's guess.

It's not about being proactive about reversals. It's about Nuance - wannie

changing the "rule" to suit them. Nuance, on Enrich, said that 1% to 2% of lines would be audited each week. If I'm at 100% when the auditing gets to 2%, leave it alone. If it's below 99% when I'm at 0.5%, audit some more. Unfortunately, that doesn't appear to be the way it's done.

audit percentages - rock bottom

Most of the accounts get audited way more than 1% to 2% (notice the correct formatting).

The accounts would not settle for auditing 1% of their total lines per month.

Statistically speaking 1% is not even a sample let alone a representative sample. It would be fair to call it a spot check.

Since this lovely 1% to 2% of lines audited, I get 1-2 reports per week audited, which is more or less 1% of my lines. It is more like a lottery than an true accuracy check.

Bottom line is that N wanted to tie pay to quality but then couldn't get enough people who wanted to destroy another person's income and livelihood, so they had to decrease the audits per time period to reach their goal of putting everyone at minimum wage.

Is It True That FOCUS, Only Counts Half Of Your Lines When Calculating VR Lines?
Jan 30, 2012

Told Nuance Was Overcharging For Lines, Now Lines Drastically Reduced
May 02, 2012

My main account was a good one, and the lines were very good, mostly ER work. I have been on this account for over a year and a half now. We recently received an e-mail stating that Nuance had discovered that the line count was charging incorrectly, as instituted by them, and they had been crediting us with MORE lines than we were actually doing and overcharging the client. Now get this, they informed us that they would not make US pay it back, for their mistake, but that our new lines would re ...
