QC/QA - What the "Reviewer Display Name" tells you? - CuriousMT

Posted: Oct 21, 2013

I've been curious for some time what the "Reviewer Display Name" listed in FIESA really tell us about who is reviewing our work.  For instance, I've heard if you have US in the name, so like "Jane Doe NTS-US" as the Reviewer Display Name, that would mean that the reviewer was in fact in the US and worked for Nuance.  I think there are probably ones that are reviewed by offshore, but I'm not sure how they appear.

But what about other things in their names.  So, what if it was "Jane Doe Focus."  Is this a company that our QC/QA work is being outsourced to, or maybe "Focus" was a company that Nuance bought/absorbed?

Any QA/QC out there want to shed light on this?

I also hate how inconsistent everything is in FIESA.  How one QC will put the "Speaker Name" and others won't, so then you have no clue who the report was for.

Focus - Offshore or Onshore? - CuriousMT

I just did a quick search and found that Focus seemed to be one of Nuance's first purchases and was their main transcription department... Is that correct?

But from what I can tell, they were not an offshore company but US based.

I found this old PDF talking about Nuance/Focus and love how they call offshoring or outsourcing "Follow-the-Sun." You know, cause US transcriptionists only work when the sun's out. We're all apparently afraid of the dark!

they do like a lot of companies, have an "office" in the US with a handful - of employes, but all work in INdia

So, all Focus employees are in India? - CuriousMT

I had also posted about QA/QC names in a thread right above this one and am now wondering if the QC's that have "Focus" in their name are off shore. The name used is very "American" (like John Smith, for instance). I've worked with call centers that allow the Indian employees to choose an American-sounding name, but as far as I know, the Indian's working for Nuance use their birth names (at least, when I've seen them listed elsewhere).

So, again, do you think if a QC has Focus in their name they are offshore?

When I started here 6 years ago, I was working for Focus Infomatics. I don't think it was any more an offshore company than all the other companies that have been bought out since. I don't know this for sure, though.

Fiesa Reviewer Number
May 18, 2015

I seem to always have the same reviewer name on my FIESA feedback.  Has anyone else noticed that when you check the reviewer HRID to the report, it's a different number?!?  There is no way a reviewer has different HRID numbers.  It was stated before that you could run a trending report that shows the reviewer's office.  Does anyone know how to do that?  I can't seem to figure it out.  Is there anything they do that is transparent, straight-forward, a ...

Feb 22, 2014

I recently received an E-mail to call a company who is hiring for a large oncology account.  The company's name does not sound like it would be an MTSO but rather a company that handles data for other companies.  I called the company, the person seemed very nice, but was not very informative about medical transcription or even the aspects behind hiring MTs.  There was no mention of a test.  Paperwork was sent to me.  Everything looked legit.  There was mention ...

Because they lie. The only way you can find out if you are eligible is through your state. Don't believe Nuance. Their insurance premiums go up if you get unemployment, as does any employer's, and that's why they say that as a knee-jerk reflex. Because they lie. Good luck everyone. ...
