Running off the 'old heads' would only hurt Nuance in so far as they would have to not only slow down long enough to train new MTs, but they would lose the experienced MTs who do all the training of the QCs and QAs for them (again at MT expense). They would laugh, just like they do when you try to complain to HR that you need more income. "Oh, would you like me to call (this other HR person with you) to talk about suggestions?" No, HR Supervisor, I called you to go over that person's head about it because they are rude and made all the above statements."
In short, I think we need to even go over HRs' heads with our complaints. I'm considering doing letters to each of these SINCERELY WANT TO WISH US THE BEST possible MT week messengers. Wrote all those names down. Will start writing letters to members listed on the Board of Directors if I have to, to plead my case.
Leaving prisoners under the supervision of the most visious prison guard ever? Well, we went to war with Hitler to avoid that ever happening again in US History. Might have to again.
HR doesnt have ability to raise your pay. Anyway, no - body will raise pay, N doesnt have to. nm

Rent goes on, even without credit card debt, student loans, or anything else breathing down peoples' necks. Rent, too, can only be downsized before it is either the curb or the backseat of the family car for habitation.
Use of spaces would make your post much easier - read. I also have no debt, paid SM

of 30K in 5 years working hard at MT. If you stay in a job that leads to you living in your car, whose fault is that. Yea, good parenting to stay at a job that doesnt pay the rent.
Don't they owe at the least minimum wage? nm - tiny

They are WELL aware of the lawsuit against Transcend on that very subject... not paying minimum wage, instructing employees to alter their timecards to make it look like they were getting minimum wage even though they were not, failing to pay overtime.... they are WELL aware.

We are so glad you are collecting Nuance info too. We have a running list that is going to the Transcend 13 for use in their David and Goliath battle.
Which data point is the most hilarious in those you are amassing? The funniest one we received to date was that they provide raises to certain sectors within Nuance and the MTs are not one of those sectors. That should tell each every Nuance MT exactly what they think of you and exactly how they are using you to increase revenue!
Wish we only knew the name of the person who spewed that beauty. They seem to have no clue how absolutely idiotic they sound. Can you say discrimination?
I started out 18 years ago at a very small hospital working as a full-time, in-house employee with benefits and worked with some horrific dictators, but that gave me an excellent start in this field. I then started working for large MTSOs as a full-time remote employee with benefits, which I did for years, and did very well. I raised my kids VERY WELL as a single parent doing that. I was able to work around my family without any problems, i.e. got them up, fed, and off to schoo ...
Last Friday my paycheck for 2 weeks' work was less than $300. How am I supposed to live on this?! My company raised our min. line count rate, and not long ago lowered our cpl pay for VR, which is all we ever get anymore. We also have a higher min. daily required rate. Yet of course, work is getting sparse, especially at this time of year. So I sit and wait, occasionally hitting the download button, and occasionally actually getting a short, almost worthless job spat out at ...
Anyone know of a good small company that I can work just for supplental income? I don't need a lot, just something to help out. I prefer a small company without all of the bells and whistles that come with the larger ones. TIA ...

That money is OUR money for what MQ did to all of us and probably most of the money MQ took was from ASR!!! I see MQ hired ANOTHER VP for global service? I wonder how much this person makes? Along with bonuses? So, that makes what. . ., 30 some VP's who work for MQ? ...
After losing an employee status job due to healthcare reform anticipated cuts, I am considering going back to IC status. Just to keep things super simple, as a baseline would appreciate hearing what ICs are making yearly who work a 40 hour a week. ...
I do not mean a per line rate, as that will equate to different incomes for different MTs.
What do you consider a reasonable annual income for a combination of MT/editing; $25,000, $30,000, $40,000, or more?
My income was $47,000 in the past, and will probably drop to $37,000 this year. I don't like it, but I do not have a degree, jobs are not plentiful, and I am thinking that in my rural town, I will not do any better, especially considering clothes and gas, etc. I stil ...
Ask anyone what's happened to earnings in this field over the last 10 years. If you have a penchant for the macabre, try the last 20 years. I won't bother with the details because you already know them.
Well, you put up with it, didn't you? While the population of ESL dictators exploded and VR came on the scene, while the sheer number of medical devices, instruments, procedures, tests and other terminology we deal with doubled and then tripled, while benefits were hac ...
Does anyone know if in a leave of absence there is any income at all? My 27-year-old son may have cancer. I'm needless to say devastated and need to be of help to him and his family. ...
What do you do if the 1099 you received from a former client doesn't equal the payments received from them. It says they paid me more than I received or show deposits. The office manager will not return calls or e-mails? She even stiffed me on my last invoice. ...
I've noticed that we need some sort of standard reference or metric to use when we talk about income-related issues, and this metric should not merely reference dollars (or cents), but should relate this to a unit of time. At the end of the day, it's how much you earned per unit of time that really matters, and this the only sort of metric that takes into account all of the variables that a mere monetary reference such as "line rate" does not.
The line rate pa ...
Of course this is personal but since we can be anonymous on her, would anyone share what they are making in terms of weekly, hourly, monthly or yearly with me? I would like to compare with where I am and determine if I am at a good average or way below and need to be doing more.
I would also love it if you could share production lines per hour or day etc. ...
I was one of the people originally with MDI who was sold to Transcend who was sold to Nuance. With MDI, we were statutory employees. When sold to Transcend, we were told repeatedly and often that statutory employee would no longer exist, that we were straight employees. Same with Nuance. Yet my pay stubs say statutory employee and zero federal tax was withheld all year; however, the statutory employee box on the W2 is not checked. So what does this mean?
How is it legal to be told we are straig ...
It seems impossible to find morning work in radiology to supplement my full-time income! I love my full-time job at Transcend, but I am really needing to find a PT gig to supplement my income. I current work second shift, but with the economy these days, like so many others out there, I could really use the extra income. I would appreciate any input about any companies, whether it be IC or employee status, that offers morning work in radiology. I scour the ads daily ...
That's truly miscellaneous, along with the golden parachute category and the proceeds paid to an attorney. I've never seen this form before. Wonder why the MTSOs would use that instead of a 1099. ...
According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive.
In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...
that fall during the shift. For example, if half of your hours fall in 3rd shift and half fall in 1st shift, do the 3rd shift hours pay more cpl? Or, do all hours have to fall within the shift to qualify?
Thanks,
Yet another sad Transcend employee... ...
I thought they were 2 different services. Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows. All the small companies have been merged I guess. I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR. Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...
Does anyone know why the ad says "No inquiries from overseas" when they obviously offshore the work? Anyone reading that would incorrectly assume they do not offshore. I was reading an article in the newspaper that a journalist was talking about a few days ago regarding the hospital outsourcing to the Web/Nuance, and the spokesperson for the hospital said in the article that the company only employs US MTs. ...
The ad Nuance has up says increased PTO. Anyone willing to tell me what it is now.
Also information on their bonus program would be helpful.
Thank you. ...
....First send us an email with fabulous Nuance ins (bad news) because they had to announce that due to open season. However at the same time telling us that the new pay structure (probably more bad news) will be announced at a later date but will be effective Jan 1 2012. Good way to keep us hanging on while they are so behind with their horrid platform.
Guess what Nuance/Nuisance, it will not work as your reputation has gone from bad to worse and we are now realizing that the We ...
If Webmedx does away with or changes their recently advertised "PRODUCTION BASED INCENTIVE" bonus and adopts the Nuance quality based bonus then this change may be considered by quite a few WMX employees as yet another cut in pay. I’m sure that there are quite a few MT’s currently at WMX that have a high QA average and are earning $300-$400 (some even more) in production incentive pay each pay period, which equates to $600-$800 per month.
As an example, acco ...
