Micromanaging - Discouraged

Posted: Feb 25, 2014

Lately it just seems like we're being micromanaged to death and I'm getting sick of it.  I'm trying to stick it out until the end of the year and take early retirement, but honestly I just don't know if I'm going to make it.  I used to enjoy going to work, even at Nuance, but now I dread it.  Any suggestions for someone who feels totally down in the dumps over this whole thing?

Suggestions for countdown. sm - Days to retirement

I don't have any suggestions for the micromanagement, but as far as the wait until you can retire, this is what I did.

Marked my wall calendar so I could count down the months, weeks, days until first Social Security payment. It made the time go by much faster. Some calendars already have the days marked in the corners. Like, today is the 56th day of year, with 309 days to go. I started out just counting months until retirement. Then, when it was down to less than 1 year, I started counting weeks, then eventually switched to counting days. Might sound silly, but it got me through. Now, I'm counting down until DH starts his SS and I can finally stop working for anyone but DH and myself. Good luck and big hugs to you.

This is what I will do, unfortunately, I have a few more years, can't get here fast enough. Discouraged, hang in there, there is light at the end of your tunnel, you are almost there!

Humor? What about: The beatings will continue - until moral improves!

Or maybe perspective: I think our situation is somewhat similar to that of the Israelites being held in slavery in Egypt before Moses led them to freedom. The Egyptians cut off their source of straw, yet required them to still produce bricks at the same level, otherwise, beatings ensued. That sounds familiar . . . (Mission Impossible!).

Is There Micromanaging Here?
Jun 30, 2012

I get my required lines in really fast.  then, I slow down the rest of the day b/c I am tired or need a break, need a snack, etc.  I already got my lines in.  Already asked once what my schedule is by QA.  Was this to micromanage, or am I being touchy... Are we not allowed to take breaks once our lines are reached? What is the deal.  Or am I just being paranoid. Thanks in advance. Newbie here. ...

QUIT MICROMANAGING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Audit feedback T'ing me off, sorry.  I fail to see how adding or leaving out "a" and "the" should be anywhere near a major category, downgrade or not.  Absolutely none of the "errors" I am being dinged for have any effect on patient care.  I completely reject audits as a valid assessment of my skill, especially since dictators are obviously not held to the same standard.  We are given too many sets of rules to follow. D* if you do, d* if you don't.  H ...

Synernet And Micromanaging

Any feedback here on recent emails?  My 2 cents about this... Just wanted to add to the e mail: "If in bathroom for 16 minutes make sure to bring cell phone in and call helpdesk to notify. Anything less would be unacceptable." PS: To management: Micromanaging the peon does not make a disorganized management team better, it just makes it feel more poweful.  Perhaps a better idea would be to address the disorganization from top down; fix the system; and last but not least, put steps in ...
