Has anyone ever had a reversal rejected right off the bat and never even received a confirmation e-mail for it? I put one in the other day and had it say "rejected by admin." What the heck is this and why did this happen??? I never received an automatic email either that they usually send once you request a reversal. It was for a major error b/c I typed verbatim and the reviewee cleaned it up a bit. For example, doctor says "was admitted in the hospital" was changed to "was admitted to the hospital" which makes sense but the doctor did not say it that way. Also, was a major error b/c for "one and a half months" i transcribed 1.5 months and they changed it to 1 1/2 months but in my account specs it has nothing about that and in the transcription guide it only says to change measurements to fractions like that. I put that in the comments and it was rejected?? Can they even do that? Am wondering if it is an error of some sort? I reopened it. I proposed a minor error b/c i'm not 110% sure without the voice file to listen to but I am sure on the 1.5 months thing. How is that major.

For the months thing it should be 1-1/2 months - not 1.5. The decimal would be

Was your request to reverse a QC review job or an audited job? Because I tried reversing a QC reviewed job and they automatically get rejected since as I was told "they don't count against you".

Why do they have QC reviews then? - Why do they even have QCs?

I will never for the life of me understand why they keep devising new ways to cut and cut our pay yet seem to have an entire class of (I think still) hourly employees who apparently serve no real purpose.

Well, from what I gather QC are the ones who get the pended reports to figure out the blanks, which is perfectly functional (except where they use the pend to try to find extra errors, which is nasty). We are told their reviews mean nothing, so why must we see them?

How come they do reviews then if they mean nothing? Training purposes for them?

Why don't they just keep it between QC and whoever is training them then? It would make FIESA easier to get through too then if we didn't have all those QC ones.

be making before it counts against you on post audit. I assure you, QC is no picnic. Magnify that pain in the butt ESL dictator times hundreds. That's what useless QC gets the pleasure of working with. They don't nitpick the reports to "get you," but rather, if that report they touched is picked up on post audit and the error is there, it then belongs to the QC person (yes, QC has to maintain quality also). What I can tell you is I got out of QC 6 months ago and went back to being a plain 'ol MLS. Life is so much easier now. When I get QC Fiesa feedback, I take a quick look and move on. I don't let it define me. I'd much rather the error if any be caught at the QC level than post audit. It doesn't matter if you've been at this for 25 years or 1 year, there is something new to learn every day and guess what ? EVERYONE makes errors. Errors should be viewed as a learning tool, not a "they are out to get me" issue. That's just plain paranoid thinking.

I never said "they are out to get me" in my post, but I do feel there are too many cooks here who are absolutely unnecessary to the quality of the end product.

Between all the salaries for the various QA/QC and the Enrich and training salaries, no wonder they are cutting our pay, but it is simply not fair to do that since we are the ones who do the most important work which is contracted to bring in the money.

I don't dispute we all have something to learn, I just don't feel every single teensy error should be targeted to bring down my pay.

They would rather justify all these superfluous middle men than pay us a decent wage.

How many of us have worked in places which had only a few dedicated QA for questions (who were REALLY knowledgeable) and if you had blanks, and QA were only to help and correct, not there to dock your pay?

And can you honestly say the quality of the end transcription product with Nuance is any better with all their levels of checkers and dockers?

I would have to say Nuance would be worse because you do a lot better job when you are not looking over your shoulder after being made to feel you are useless time and again, also helps to know how much you are making consistently, not varying from week to week.

determine how many to post-audit? Sometimes I have 1 report and sometimes 2, with the last one being done late on Friday. Is this totally random or does it go by how many lines total you produced??

"EVERYONE makes errors" and THAT is what Nuance is banking on, and why they have come up with the system they have to pay the MT. If every employer, no matter the job, was penalized such as the MT is for making errors, INCLUDING the dictators, just imagine ......

I think that is unfair though if that is the case. A mistake is a mistake. If it is on their end it should be corrected even if it doesn't count against my pay. It is still on my record.

.. when you just want your TSM to double check and make sure it's legit? I've seen quite a few folks on here say "reverse everything." I'd really like my TSM to take a listen to this and make sure of what was said since I cannot do that myself. I'm torn between just letting it go and requesting the reversal, but if I do request the reversal what do I put in the comments section? Should I actually just say... "Please verify this error" or something along those lines? Thanks... ...

Got a reversal and then within a very short time got a Major Error by the very same QA/QC person who had to reverse the first one.  Coincidence??  I feel like at that point someone was looking to get back at me.  The error they found the second time was truly my error but I just find the timing odd.  Paranoid?  You bet.  ...

Can't believe it. I got a 3-point error on a report on Thursday. The QA and I heard two different lab values. I listened back to it and for the life of me could not hear what the QA changed it to. So I requested a reversal, completely expecting nothing of it. And today I actually got it reversed because the reviewer agreed with me.   Chalk up a win for me finally! I'm actually going to get a decent paycheck this week ...

I knew I shouldn't have looked at my FIESA from Saturday but I did.  Majority are 100% so for that I am grateful but THEN there are the others where you are marked off for stuff that make no sense and then there are the stupid errors that I did and will own up to and wonder where my brain was when I was typing - I think my brain was so worried about being marked off for every little thing that I honestly can't concentrate sometimes like I need to. ...

I know we complain and complain about this on here and we fight and argue with the TLs about this...I was marked off half a point for EACH blank that I left on a dictation that the tape cut out.  The only explanation from QA was that "it was clearly understood".  I am just wondering how it was clearly understood.  I went back and listened to the tape and sure enough where I had blanks, the tape was cutting out.  So why am I being marked off for blanks.  Then on a few ot ...

Okay, first quarter FIESA reviewed about 80 reports of mine and I actually got my incentive.  Now for this quarter, I am wavering on not getting my incentive with a 98.88 and for the past few weeks they have not reviewed a single one of my reports.  I smell something fishy.  This whole FIESA thing is to a) review enough reports a quarter so you fall below 99 and then b) if you are below 99, stop reviewing reports so you are stuck there with no chance to bring it up!  How fric ...

our post-audit reports are randomly pulled.  If you score high enough to get the bonus, your reports are gone through by the hatchet queens in India until they can find a report they can "audit" to bring you below 99%.  If you are kicked back to 98.99%, they still meet their contract requirements to the client, and Nuance does not have to pay you a bonus.  ...

I almost always get my critical errors on one particular doctor who I think I understand and then it turns out I miss something.  I think there is a way to do a report on critical errors and see if I can trend the dictator but I can't figure out how.  Does anybody know?  And before you tell me to ask my TSM I did but as usual never got an answer. ...

Much as I dislike FIESA and all this QA, what I really hate is finding out I've been typing something WRONG for 30 years.  The only thing I can say for myself is some QA decades ago filled it in for me and I didn't look it up.  Been typing Campo's fascia instead of Camper's fascia. Took a 1-point post-audit hit on it, too.  Shakes me up, what else have I been doing wrong for 30 years?  And will it knock me out of bonus territory next quarter... ...
