An Mmodal MT. You guys have work?? - Or is it slow work coming in.

WE HAVE HARDLY ANY WORK at Mmodal. Quite a few of us have $70.00 paychecks for a 2 week period which does not pay for the electric or cable bills. Mmodal says it is slow because of the holidays... Oh really, well holidays do not run for 3 months in a row.

I have dictators stating the hospital beds are full and ER wait time for patients are over 6 hours because of too many patients being seen. Yet, Mmodal says we are slow and have low volume because of the holidays. Bull crap!

I was amazed at how much work I have had up until yesterday and then it just disappeared. Up until then I would have a bunch back to back and then might have to wait a couple of minutes but then it would pick up again and every day seemed to be that way even on Christmas but then yesterday and today have been really really bad so I don't know if they just waited to go away for New Years or what. I am normally off today and tomorrow but have been on trying to make up my missing hours from Saturday

By jumping on when you aren't scheduled to work is taking away work from those that are scheduled on at these times. I realize we all want our lines but I just can't see taking away from somebody who is trying to work their regularly scheduled hours. I ran out of work today because I suspect other MTs jumped on. Oh well.

We act like a bunch of mad eating animals at Mmodal just trying to pay bills. I guess I was lucky to make $70.00 in a 2 week pay period. Some made less.

I've used up almost all of my PTO over the last month. Guess there will be no vacation this summer. Oh well, I guess it is a blessing since I probably can't afford a vacation anyway. Glass half full and all that.

I start job #2 this week. I am really hoping 80 hours a week will get my bills paid but suspect I will just have another 40 hours of sitting and waiting for work to trickle in.

a week but I am trying to figure out a schedule. How are you going to do it? Do you plan on taking at least one day off and maybe working two different shifts? I too need to pay my bills but I am not very organized so if you have any advice, I would love to hear it. Good luck to you too.

I work M-F days at Nuance (Nuance is the only one I found with M-F day shift available)and will work Sun-Thurs evening for the other.

I will get Friday evening, Saturday all day and most of Sunday off. The rest of the week will require an IV infusion of coffee and diet Coke.

I told hubby he is in charge of Dinner M-Th. Saturday I will prep whatever I can for the week.

It won't be fun but one job just is not enough anymore.

I couldn't take doing both anymore... and I picked the lesser of 2 evils. VR pay is higher at N and I at least can hear the docs. At M I had such a difficult time with the new upgrade, and bad sound, that the stress was not worth it. I will just do the same amount of lines on 1 that I did for both at N and deal with the nasty e mails. At least I can do my job because I can hear and mostly understand the dictators. If you are doing 2 good luck to you as I did it for a year and it was way too stressful for me (I go to graduate school and have a child too).

I ran out of work too often and the allowed flex times were too few to make lines up (I am on a follow the sun account).

I have 2 kids but they are both older teenagers so I am mostly just a taxi for them. I don't see how you could work 2 jobs going to grad school and with a child as well. I hope you are able to get what you need from Nuance!!

Doing what I was told to do which was flex my hours if I was OOW. It happens to me also all the time. Unfortunately we are all in the same boat. i have used PTO the last 2 paydays which no way compensated me for what I would have made if I had work on the system. I am already so far behind for pay and LPH this week and with the end of the pay period looming this Friday will undoubtedly lose substantially when I am scheduled to work New Years Day etc.

I mean wrong as in, there will be a long run of sentences in which VR doesn't get a single word right. I don't know WHY, because this speaker happens to speak very clearly at a decent speed and with no background noise. Do you guys just delete everything and retype? backup account or an unfamiliar account when you run out of work on your primary. Are we allowed to do this? I would rather stick my primary and flex my time to a later time or even not at all if possible. For months you have complained about NJA and other people logging on randomly and taking your work away. So MQ comes up with a system whereby this will no longer be allowed to happen -- and you are now complaining about it too ? clearly dictates a sentence that makes absolutely no sense. Just sort of an open-ended sentence, not even a fragment? I'm trying so hard to keep the blanks down, which my % is really okay, but I'm finding more and more that these docs are just not making any sense and the mistakes are getting ridiculous!!! Specs for each account that seem completely random, pulled out of someone's ****, and it's always some small problem constantly. I spend more time checking specs than I do typing. I'll never get off QA at this rate. I would probably like the account if I could get past all this picky this, that and the other. We are sent frequent updates of new openings every time they take on new clients and we can switch to whichever client we which - it lists the client, days of week and house required for such client. Fortunately I haven't been running out BUT I was denied (once again) Christmas and New Years off. Not too concerned about New Years but I host Christmas and will have to work till 2:00 in the afternoon. My family will open gifts at the crack of dawn so I can start my shift and my hubby will bring my breakfast into the office for me to eat while (or if) I'm working.
