Anyone else fall for Inscribes job posting for new MTs? Practically killed myself doing their test, which was absolutely horrendous, only to be told I didn't pass, but I could sign up for their medical transcription course! Absolute scam! Do not fall for it. They are just looking for you to give them money!

If you don't seem to possess the skills in testing, they may be truly pointing you toward an education to assist you.

Most employment tests are not that difficult if you have the right experience and knowledge.

How to spout the shame/MTSO/suit comments when you hear something you disagree with.

I'm none of those things, btw, and testing should not be horrendous. If they can get you trained and give you a job (and personally I think they SHOULD be paid to do this), then isn't that an advantage for you to gain your requisite 2 years of experience?

Just love the MTs who scream "suit" and "management" when those of us with experience and who are successful at this profession do not agree with the failure ideology.

I do have a job. I have been working as an mt for 6 months, hired just a few weeks after doing my intern agreement.

I also have a conscience and do not make fun of those who have less experience and knowlege than I in a particular field.

I took the test for them and did excellent on it. I was then told they do not have an opening at that time. I was then contacted a couple of weeks later telling me they did have an opening now and they wanted to see if I was still interested in a position with them. I told the recruiter yes I was, and they said that someone would contact me to get me started.

I did not hear anything from them for a couple of days. The recruiter told me to email her if I did not hear anything, so I did. She told me she would find out what the hold up was. I didn't hear anything back from anybody. I emailed her and told her I did not hear anything back from her and that I would continue to look for work. So, I am not sure what that was about, but I would never try for a job with that company again. Some companies leave a bad taste, like Inscribe. This only happened a couple of weeks ago. I've already accepted a job with someone else since this happened.

Unfortunately, the situation that cj describes is typical of InScribe. They're extremely disorganized and the communication is horrendous. I know a few MTs who passed the InScribe test and subsequent evaluations (which took several weeks because of all the internal delays), and were then officially "hired," only to never hear from anyone again! Their MT program is also a joke for the same reasons--disorganization and lack of communication, except that they not only waste your time with this program, but your money as well.

I took their test last fall and passed it and was called immediately. I was told I would be up and running in 2 weeks or less. First it was calls from different Indian tech people asking for the same paperwork over and over and after the install date came and went twice, I gave up. According to the job posting this company is based in San Francisco. The stated pay rate averages $241.00 per month. If I were this company, I would embarrassed to advertise the pathetic pay they give their MTs in one of the most expensive cities in the country. Concerned about the posting from the Midwestern MT who said she had work to be done from TransTech and here we all are sitting and checking and no work. Wondering now about this new SWAT team thing. From what I was told that the 'beast of the business' is they worry about TAT because they have to take a cut in their portion of the line count wages, so they'd rather meet the TAT? Became even more excited when I read that it was owned by a former transcriptionist and then it hit, pay will start at 7-8 CPL, depending upon experience and oh, hey, all of our transcriptionists are ICs.
